PRODUCT LICENSING PROGRAM FOR ORPHAN PRODUCT LINES

Low volume products are a vital requirement of a major defense or military customer. The options are few: continue to manufacture the product at a loss in order to maintain customer goodwill, or discontinue the product line and incur the customer dissatisfaction. Wyvern Technologies offers a third and better option. We have developed a model to license product lines from major defense and military companies and pay the licensor a royalty. The original equipment manufacturer gains in several obvious ways. Instead of losing money on low-volume production, the product line generates the licensor profits. Perhaps, more importantly, the licensor can direct the customer to a reliable source for the product, thereby maintaining goodwill. An excellent working example of this is our licensing agreement for the F-5 Fighter Jet where Wyvern Technologies licenses to manufacture all original equipment manufacturer (OEM) electronics and electrical systems and ground support equipment.
Wyvern maintains the drawings, tooling and test equipment for all of these products and can responsively manufacture factory new parts to the original specifications at a lower cost than the OEM.
